The Swedish mezzo-soprano Erika Sax - was trained at The University College of Opera, Stockholm 1999-2003, Operastudio 67 and The Music conservatory in Trondheim, Norway.

Among the roles; Pauline in Pique Dame - P Tjajkovskij, La Cenerentola - G Rossini, Hermia in A Midsummer nights dream - B Britten, Storgé in Jeptha - G.F Händel, The Mother in Mavra - I Stravinskij, Adolfine in Tintomara -  L J Werle, Maddalena in Rigoletto - Verdi, The Nurse in Boris Godunov - Mussorgski, Gertrude in Romeo and Juliet - Gounod, Clarice in Rossini's La Pietra del Paragone, Mary in Wagner's The Flying Dutchman.

Engagements at; The Royal Swedish Opera, The Gothenburg Opera, The Värmlands Opera, The Swedish Folkopera, The Norrlands Opera, Läckö Castle Opera, The Vasa Theatre, Berwaldhallen.
She has worked with conductors such as Christian Badea, Alexander Polianichko, Pier Giorgio Morandi, Gian Carlo Andretta, Patrik Ringborg, Jan Latham Koenig, Andrea Quinn, Kjell Ingebretsen, Stefan Solyom, Mika Eichenholz, Michael Bartosch, Joakim Unander, Niklas Willén, Siegfrid Köhler among others.
Appearences in chamber music events at Sandvikens Chamber music festival and at several occasions at the Bellapais’ music festival in Cyprus. In recitals Erika has performed with The Gothenburg Opera’s orchestra (together with Håkan Hagegård and Camilla Tilling), Gävle Symphony orchestra, Drottningholm’s Baroque ensemble, Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker, Sandvikens Symphony orchestra, among others.

She has received scholarships from; The Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the Kerstin Meyer scholarship among others. 

Erika is a member of the ensemble at the Gothenburg Opera 2009-2012. Among the roles; Liselotte/Maria-Lucia in Carl Unander-Scharin's World Premiere of the Sleep Clinic, Orlofsky in Strauss' Fledermaus and Myrtale in Massenet's Thaïs. 

In 2009 she also made her debut at the Royal Swedish Opera as Pauline in Tjajkovskijs´ Pique Dame.
The season 10/11 included the parts as Zulma in Rossini´s LÍtaliana in Algeri, Alisa in Donizetti´s Lucia di Lammermoor and Larina in Tjajkovskij´s Eugen Onegin at the Gothenburg Opera.

Recent and upcoming engagements include; Herodias Page in Strauss' Salome (director:P.Konwitschny), Sonjetka in Schostacovichs´ Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk and the Third Lady in The Magic flute at the Gothenburg Opera.
